Real-world profile
Beyond the blocks,
what bird is this?
The Eurasian woodcock has mottled reddish-brown camouflage and a long, sensitive bill suited to probing soft soil. Its eyes sit high and far back on its head, giving it a very broad field of view.
It often hides in the forest understory during the day and visits damp ground to forage at night. Males perform a distinctive display flight at dusk in spring.
