Real-world profile
Beyond the blocks,
what bird is this?
The black-crowned night heron is a stocky heron with a relatively short neck and legs. Adults typically have a black crown and back, gray wings, red eyes and yellow legs, with long, slender white plumes extending behind the head.
They often stand at the water's edge to ambush prey in the evening, at night or in the early morning, then rest in dense trees and shrubs during the day. Night herons are widespread and also breed in colonies.
