Obtaining
Crafting in the grid
Combine any type of bird droppings with 1 edible item or potion in any arrangement. Your inventory's 2×2 grid also works. Use only these two ingredients to produce 1 item. Already contaminated items cannot be processed again.
Hitting dropped items
Drop food or a potion on the ground, then hit it with thrown droppings. An impact immediately beside the item also works. Only 1 item in a stack is contaminated; the rest stay unchanged.

Already contaminated food or potions cannot be crafted again.
How to use
Eating or drinking
Eat or drink it as you would the original item. Once consumed, it gives Nausea for 8 seconds, Hunger for 8 seconds, and Slowness for 3 seconds. Contaminated food can be eaten even with a full hunger bar.
Identifying it
The texture stays the same, but one character in the name is replaced. For example, the Chinese name for bread changes from 面包 to 面句. Hold Shift to inspect the tooltip for suspicious details.
The prank state is stored in the item's data. It has no separate item ID.
Cake
A placed cake can be hit directly with thrown droppings. Eating it afterward also triggers the negative effects. Cake items themselves do not accept this crafting recipe. For instructions, see Bird Droppings I.
