Feeding and taming
Hold clean fish, bread or an accepted seed and right-click. Each attempt consumes one item and gives a wild seagull a 1/3 chance of being tamed. Feeding a tamed bird restores a little health, and adults can enter love mode when the conditions are met.
Companion commands
Once tamed, the owner can sneak and right-click with an empty hand to cycle through Free, Follow, Stay and Return to Nest. The current mode appears on screen. Servers can disable this feature. A bird may still prioritize escaping danger.
Stealing food
Wild seagulls may watch ordinary food in either hand of a Survival player, then swoop down to snatch one item. They will not steal from a stack with only 1 item left. Put the food away to stop being the target of that attempt. Stealing has a cooldown, and server owners can disable the behavior.
Bagged Fries
Place Bagged Fries on the ground and seagulls will come to eat. Use Laxative to lace the bag of chips; a seagull that eats them will defecate repeatedly after a short delay.
Food list
Raw cod, cooked cod, raw salmon, cooked salmon, tropical fish, pufferfish, bread, wheat seeds, melon seeds, pumpkin seeds, beetroot seeds and rotten flesh.
These are the food tags in the current local build. Items contaminated with bird droppings are not treated as normal food for feeding.
