Approaching a kiwi

Holding spider eyes, sweet berries, glow berries, or melon, pumpkin or beetroot seeds can lure it. Sneaking closer slowly reduces the risk of startling it; sprinting toward it increases that risk.

Cannot be tamed

Luring it does not make it a pet or let it accept companion commands. It cannot fly, so when startled it runs along the ground toward cover.

Daily routine and territory

It forages at night and around dawn and dusk, then finds a sheltered resting place during the day. It remembers its territory and may fight an intruding kiwi. The loser keeps its distance for a while.
